Advisory Board

Art of Empowerment Inc. has an advisory board, comprised of Laurel B. Zelazo, M.S.W., Ph.D., and Renuka Sooknanan, Ph.D., who, along with our professional staff, regularly review our motivational programs.

Dr. Laurel Bidwell Zelazo

Dr. Laurel Bidwell Zelazo is a developmental psychologist who has focused her research in the areas of children, mothers and resilience.

Dr. Renuka Sooknanan

Dr. Renuka Sooknanan, is a sociologist teaching at York University on issues of race, gender, parenting and family.   

By ensuring that the most current, proven methods of working with children are incorporated in our motivational programs, and by conducting reliable research, we are able to demonstrate the importance and usefulness of our programs for enabling a child’s success.
